12/23/22 – Earlier this month during yearly elections, Chief of Department Matthew Fowler notified the membership of the SHVFD that he would not be seeking re-election, and will instead be serving as Company President. This past Monday during our monthly business meeting, we thanked Chief Fowler for his years of service as Chief. Deputy Chief Anthony King accepted the nomination for the position of Chief in 2023.

Chief Fowler, thank you for your years of dedicated service to our department. We appreciate everything you have done for us and look forward to working with you administratively. Chief King, congratulations. We look forward to working with you next year.
