Just prior to 03:30 hours on 05/07, Engine 292 and Truck 29 were alerted to the 2400 BLK of Wintergreen Ave in Co. 23’s first due for a reported house fire. En route, communications advised they were receiving multiple calls. Engine 23 and Battalion 3 arrived with smoke showing and discovered fire showing from the basement in the rear upon completion of a 360. Engine 292 operated as the fourth due engine (RIT) and the Truck operated on Division 1, completing searches, laddering and ventilating the building and checking for vertical extension. The fire was contained to the basement and the assignment was quickly scaled back.
