02/26/23 – Another busy weekend in Suitland. The company responded to over 100 runs this weekend, including 7 box alarms and 2 working fires.

Just after 01:00 on Friday 2/24, Truck 29 was alerted as the third due special service to the 2500 BLK of Senator Ave in Co. 26’s area for a house fire. First arriving units found fire showing from the C & D sides of a 1 story, single family dwelling. Truck 29 was assigned to the Charlie side to assist in opening up and checking for extension.

On Saturday evening 2/25, Engine 292 and Truck 29 responded to the 9000 BLK of Allentown Rd in Co. 32’s area for a house fire. Engine Co. 32 arrived to a 1 story single family home with fire showing from Side A. The Engine took their assigned position as RIT and the Truck was directed to open up the soffits and siding to check for hot spots. Co. 29 remained on scene for just over an hour before returning to service.

In between runs, crews took the time to polish and wax the wagon as well as re-rack all the attack lines.
